This past Sunday afternoon, I went to my friend’s house and experienced my first high. He and his wife smoke weed and he shotgunned smoke to me through a long tube 3 times in fairly rapid succession. All 3 times, I held it in my lungs for about 20 seconds before exhaling. It took about 5 minutes to really kick in, but when it hit, it hit hard. I was really REALLY high. I felt light and heavy at the same time. My face got really warm. My perception of everything warped and for the first time in a very long time, I relaxed fully.
Time felt like it was speeding up and slowing down at random. I felt like I was floating and drifting in a cloud. My mind phased in and out of focus/consciousness and at times I couldn’t tell if I’d just been asleep for a moment or not. Things that were happening in the moment felt as though they were distant memories, even though They were happening now. I could feel my body moving before I actually moved it and it felt like my spoken words were out of sync with my mouth when I spoke them.
Everything that I’d focus in on felt like it had the dolly zoom effect on it. I’d be listening to my friends talk and hear their every word, but my mind was somewhere else entirely sometimes and their voices would muffle. I couldn’t maintain focus for more than a second or so most of the time and spent a lot of time just staring at things. I used his dog as a pillow (she loves the attention) and felt like I fell asleep despite still being able to hear everything around me.
I also put some chill music on and just zoned out to it while staring at an app I had going on my ipad that looked like you’re flying through a bunch of stars that are changing through the color spectrum.
It was pure bliss to be so deeply relaxed. When I came down from the high, we played some D&D. It was my first time playing and my friend(the dm) plopped my character into the campaign where she proceeded to not do much. I live an hour and 10 minutes away from my friend so I can’t go to every session, so my character did the Tuxedo Mask meme at the end of tonight’s session. She will be npc’d until I can play again.
All in all, it was wonderful. It’s the most chill I’ve been in a very long time, if not ever. It’s also the most fun I’ve had in a long time. I hope to have another fun high experience in the future.
